PEN is not a labor union. PEN is incorporated as a non-profit professional association. PEN is non-partisan and does not endorse or donate to any political campaigns or organizations.

PEN is a state-wide organization not affiliated with nor does it support any national organizations.

Our Mission

PEN provides professional REPRESENTATION, excellent LEGAL PROTECTION, and quality LIABILITY INSURANCE that teachers need at no additional cost or out of pocket money to its members.

PEN offers SCHOLARSHIPS, MINI-GRANTS, and quality PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT to help members advance themselves professionally and to assist them in providing their students with an educational experience of the highest quality.

PEN keeps its members INFORMED about EDUCATION and LEGISLATIVE issues. PEN encourages members to be involved in the Legislative process.

PEN officers and lobbyists are at the capitol everyday throughout the entire Legislative Session REPRESENTING our members' best interests.
